Scratch this bug report. I found out that I had a faulty separate hard
drive that was somehow interfering with ubuntu's ability to mount
drives. Removed the suspect drive and all is well. Sorry about that.

Plugging in any usb drive such as flash or external drive results in
them showing up in nautilus, but I can't access them. Also can't
access my ntfs partition. Using ubuntu 11.10 64bit w/gnome shell.
