So this was added again to the wishlist?

this has been in the wishlist for 4 years now.

Mark Shuttleworth himself said update manager and software center would
be getting the remaining features from synaptic.

This should be set to at least medium.

you are forcing users to install synaptic again.

Bug description:
  Now that synaptic is gone from ubuntu, we need a more accessible way
  to manage updates. Thus some important synaptic features need to be
  brought back.

  A) Sorting
  Sorting was a very important accessibility feature in synaptic and  is also available in almost every other major OS ranging from mint update, Mac Os updater to Windows Update, etc.

  In contrast ubuntu update manager is the least accessible and trying to manage updates with it can cause RSI (Repetitive strain injury).
