Title:
  update-manager doesn't query for permissions

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When the icon in the systray informs about updates and you click either of the alternatives
  I never receives the query for entering superuser mode.

  I deeply feel this is a major security flaw since if updatemanager doesn't need my consent
  then what other programs can do whatever they do without getting my consent ?

  I hope you don't think I'm paranoid but I had gotten used to this notifications that for me
  meant that something special was about to take place.
