Marc this is a deviation from 11.04 where even though I am the
administrator, explicit permission is requested to perform updates.
I always assumed that I log on as me, however the OS would not allow updates without explicit permission being given. This is true for synaptic, and the Software Centre and the Software Sources applications, and (I assume) if I was to do the same in a terminal session.
Update manager therefore seems inconsistent and less safe.
If this is the desired process, at least the help information should be
updated.

Bug description:
I just went to update my system--worked, but I didn't have to enter my
password to allow changes to the system. I'll include a video of this
happening next time I see there are available updates.
