It looks like the root cause of the problem is libcupsys2:i386 being
installed on amd64 (installed as a dependency of printer drivers like
cnijfilter for example)

If you still have a system that fails to upgrade could you please try to remove libcupsys2 and tell if it helps ?

  I have a pretty generic system 11.04. Installed it a little over a
  week ago.  I have two packages install that did not come from Ubuntu
  one is google's Ardesia and Webcamstudio.
