...and I completely forgot to mention my main point with the previous
comment: searching for "git" does not show the "technical items",
leading people to think it's not in the repo at all. Targeted searches,
if nothing else, should show all available stuff, not just the graphical
ones.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

  Ubuntu Software Center 2.1.10 Maverick 10.10

  In the "Get Software > Developer Tools > Version Control" category it
  list VCSs and GUIs. However the only VCS in the top list is Bazaar.
  Other VCSs like Git, Subversion, CVS, and Mercurial are under the "20
  other technical items".

  Obviously if Bzr is in the top list the others should be too.
