Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Both Hardy and Jaunty have reached EOL, on May 12, 2011, and October 23, 2010.

I've tried recreating this bug with Oneiric and was unable to, given the
information you've provided. Please either a) upgrade and test or b)
increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.

  software-properties-gtk crashed with AttributeError in run()

Status in “software-properties” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I started the Synaptic package manager, intending to have it test all
  available servers to find the fastest local repository for downloads
  (to offload a little from the main Ubuntu servers). I viewed the
  Repositories panel, and selected "Other" to bring up the server list.
  I clicked the "test" button, and the program began testing various
  servers. At about 95% through the test list, the program quit
  responding. A kill -9 in a terminal was required to kill it.
