Title:
  ubuntu-minimal package no longer exists - halts upgrade

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10 using the update-manager.

  The process updates the sources lists for the new distribution and
  then starts to calculate what needs to be upgraded. I seem to have
  ubuntu-minimal meta package installed and the upgrade cannot find this
  package in 11.10.

  I am told that this issue should be reported using bug-buddy

  ubuntu-bug update-manager

  The update manager then reverts the sources lists back to the original
  and closes out of the upgrade process.
