Title:
Non-sensical nfs error message when server is down

Status in “nfs-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When trying to do an nfs mount of a server that is down, the non-
  sensical error message

'mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified'

  is returned. E.g.

  user at client:~$ sudo mount -t nfs server:/export /mnt/mntpt
mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified

If the -v option is passed to mount, the real problem is revealed:

  user at client:~$ sudo mount -v -t nfs server:/export /mnt/mntpt

  mount.nfs: timeout set for Fri Oct 14 10:32:43 2011
  mount.nfs: text-based options: 'addr=192.168.10.58'
  mount.nfs: mount(2): Operation not supported
mount.nfs: mount to NFS server 'server:/export' failed: RPC Error: Program not registered
