  clean Installation of oneiric desktop 64 bits crashed on a HP dv4

Bug description:
  After downloading checksum was checked.   After installation was
  showing no progress for over 30 minutes, I suspended it and then it
  crashed.    The installer software was operational,  as I could verify
  status of connections.
