** Description changed:

- I'm using ubuntu maverick with latest updates on a Dell Latitude E6400
- laptop. Since some days the brightness of the LCD is changed non-
- deterministically to a certain value. After that it is possible to
- change the brightness to my previously set value as normal. There are
- several scripts/ways in ubuntu to change the LCD brightness. Please help
- me to provide more information to uncover this strange behaviour.
