There was a bug about them not being transferred in the daily-live
images, but that is now fixed in the 11.10 release candidate.

** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Fix Released

Title:
  transfer wireless connection config into installed system

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

  If the user doing the install has given the live environment the
  connection details for a wifi network, and created a user with
  Ubiquity, it would be a piece of really classy polish to migrate these
  details into the created user.

  This way, after install a user will reboot, log in and Network Manager
  will be able to automatically join their wifi network without them
  having to find its icon, choose the network and type a password.
