Title:
Embedded terminal now far too small initially (oneiric regression)

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The embedded terminal display for the progress of an upgrade operation
used to, when expanded initially, default to an appropriately sensible
size (it looked as if it might be 80x20-something).

Now, it's defaulting to being just one row tall, by ~20 columns, which
is far too small to effectively display anything.
