  aptitude won't forget a list of 'new packages'

Status in “aptitude” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  When I launch aptitude in terminal, it always shows a large number of
  new packages:

  --- New Packages (19858)

  After pressing 'f' it clears that list, but on next start or next
  update of package lists with 'u' it still shows that same amount of
  new packages.
