** Description changed:
The "Older Linux kernel" sub-menu is superflous on grub-pc, plus, it's
rather pointless, in a situation when GRUB2 automatically adopts the
BIOS' largest available resolution, which provides plenty of space to
display all available kernels within a single view. It would thus be
desirable to remove that sub-menu or to make its utilization entirely
- option and disabled by default. OEM manufacturers that pre-install
- Ubuntu on handheld devices with a limited screen footprint could easily
- pre-seed debconf answers to enable it as needed, whereas for average PC
- usage, it's undesirable.
+ optional and to disable it by default. OEM manufacturers that pre-
+ install Ubuntu on handheld devices with a limited screen footprint could
+ easily pre-seed debconf answers to enable it as needed, whereas for
+ average PC usage, the sub-menu is undesirable.
