[Bug 896937] Re: Basically I have been running linux 10.04. I updated to 11.04 and then to 11.10. When I updated to 11.10 everything crashed and nothing would work again. Reinstalled 11.10 and it crashed again- used Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Remix using USB *Unetbootin*. Netbook remix wouldnt allow wireless configuration or updates to occur, wouldnot connect through eth0 or wlan. iwconfig was inconclusive and ineffective, as were other terminal commands for update and installations. Finally used Unetbootin to make Ubuntu 11.10 Live USB Installer and at the very end while it was saving language packs, I was notified that the Package installer had crashed. This also happened every other time since i upgraded from my original 10.04 interface. WTF?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with the disk to which you are trying to
install Ubuntu. I'd recommend performing a back up of your existing
operating system and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections for your disks and using
software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event
that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's
status back to New. Thanks and good luck!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
