[Bug 896678] [NEW] Installation crash

Public bug reported:

My computer had previously had windows xp installed on it, but when it
would not boot under any of the possible choices, I decided to install
Ubuntu via a USB storage device(4 GB). When I started the Ubuntu
installation I completed all of the pre-intsallation information. I then
started the installation process; when the progress bar was about 40%
done it stated that it was "creating user. . ." and then the error
window popped up saying that the installation has crashed. So then i
proceeded to creates this error report
