This bug has been entirely dormant for more than a year, with no one
reporting recurrence of the issue since the last update in maverick. If
you're still seeing it in current Lubuntu, I think you've got a new
issue and should file a separate bug report.

Binary package hint: plymouth
When I boot up the latest lucid livecd i get the message "Could not
write byte, broken pipe" in the middle of the screen while the three
colored bars are filling up at the bottom of the screen.
Just a cosmetic bug, ubuntu started afterwards.
