There is nothing we can do about bad media and since creating a DVD
resolved the issue for you it seems to have been bad media.
Subsequently, I am closing the bug task.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  hp compaq nx8220

  booted off a live DVD, hit "install linux mint", several keystrokes
  later it said "Installer Crashed".

  i have the syslog and partman files, how do i submit it?
