Intrepid is no longer supported, so marking this as Invalid (Won't Fix
might be a better status, but I can't select that). Hardy, from which
the described upgrade was made, is also no longer supported on the
desktop.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: consolekit

  1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or
     System -> About Ubuntu.

  Intrepid, upgraded yesterday.

  2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy
     packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.

  Consolekit 0.2.10-1ubuntu7

  3) What you expected to happen

  I don't fully know what consolekit does, so nothing was
  expected.

  4) What happened instead

  There were many errors during the upgrade to Intrepid, starting with
  issues installing rarian-compat (for which there is already a
  bug). This caused many GNOME packages to be only partially installed,
  and, as a whole, GNOME was unusable. Purging and reinstalling
  rarian-compat allowed all other packages to be configured, and this
  machine has no outstanding unconfigured packages.

  When logging in to GNOME, several applets failed, and the applet
  "info" window (that talks about a new button with several combined
  features, with the "Update" button) also could not run, saying it
  couldn't find (or run?) the fusa applet.
