Truthfully, before this update, I am not sure I was using ACPI, I think
maybe I was using APM.

What would be the most helpful troubleshooting steps?

Title:
Power consumption after update of acpid (1.0.10-5ubuntu2.1,
  1.0.10-5ubuntu2.2)

Status in “acpid” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I have a Sylvania Meso G Netbook ( Rebranded MSI Wind) that has been
performing beautifully on 8.04 and then on 10.04. Never had any
issues with power consumption or the 4 cell battery that it has.

On 10/22/2011 update manager ran and pulled in acpid
(1.0.10-5ubuntu2.1, 1.0.10-5ubuntu2.2). Since then my battery cannot
charge (it was working fine) and my netbook is certainly pulling more
power. Please advise what troubleshooting steps you need from me to
resolve this issue before my netbook becomes fried.
