Title:
"Package operation failed" Details field is too short to read

Bug description:
When a "Package operation failed" error occurs
(ERROR_PACKAGE_MANAGER_FAILED), the "Details" field is too short to
read any of the text. <http://imgur.com/YJ5vV>

I'm guessing this is because it's code written for GTK2 that is being
  laid out differently by GTK3.
