Title:
/boot/efi is not mounted in "Rescue" mode Ubuntu Server 11.10

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Starting Ubuntu Server 11.10 in Rescue mode leads to multiple options.
One of them is reinstalling grub.

On a EFI system grub reinstall will seem to work and no errors are displayed.
But grub is not reinstalled to the EFI partition, because /boot/efi is not mounted.

Workaround: mount the EFI partition manually to /boot/efi and then reinstall grub.
Extra info: If the EFI partition is not mounted a grub reinstall still appears to finish successfully, while it is not!

Note: This was on the x64 build of Ubuntu Server 11.10, but I wouldn't
be surprised if it the same situation applies to x86.
