Title:
kubuntu adept_manager --version-upgrade to 7.10 has some confusing
  dialog messages.

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: adept-manager

During the upgrade to Kubuntu Version 7.10 the upgrade GUI displayed a
warning about services that need to be restarted. I can not recall the
exact wording but it had to do with packages like xdm, kdm etc needing
to be restarted and that you might have problems running authenticated
applications until this happens. The dialog message makes sense to me,
but I am reporting on behalf of my brother who has only been using
Linux for about six months. He had no idea what the warning was
  talking about.

Problem: Messages are not "new" user friendly.

Possible Solution: Have a simple version of the warning such as "After
this upgrade is complete it may be necessary to restart your
computer". Then we could have the warning details below detailing that
it is possible to just restart xdm, kdm etc without have to reboot.
