[Bug 775718] Re: Won't boot on first try, always boots on second try

The problem persists even when I have turned off GRUB_HIDDEN so that I
always get the OS selection menu. The system always hangs after the OS
selection and before the screen to enter the dm_crypt password. It
always works on the second try.

Any ideas?

Title:
Won't boot on first try, always boots on second try

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

I installed Maverick 10.10 with full disk encryption (dm_crypt).
  Everything worked fine.

I recently upgraded to Natty 11.04. Upgrade went fine, but every boot
I get a blank blue screen instead of the decryption prompt.

If I just power-off and try again, it correctly goes to the Grub
selection screen. Booting the default Linux takes me to the decryption
  screen and everything works.
