The error from the log is 
/etc/grub.d/README: 2: All: not found
/etc/grub.d/README: 4: 00_*:: not found
/etc/grub.d/README: 5: 10_*:: not found
/etc/grub.d/README: 6: Syntax error: "(" unexpected
User postinst hook script [/usr/sbin/update-grub] exited with value 2
dpkg: error processing linux-image-2.6.32-32-generic (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

Could you open a terminal and run the command:
$ sudo chmod 644 /etc/grub.d/README

Then update your system again. This will likely fix your problem. I'm closing this report because it is not a bug with Ubuntu.
Don't hesitate to submit any new bug you may find.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

  During last update I got this errors:
  E: linux-image-2.6.32-32-generic: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
  E: linux-image-generic: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
  E: linux-generic: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

  After my laptop restart the something crashed and I submitted the
  issue as suggested.
