MBOFH:

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

While we appreciate the difficulties you are facing, it would appear
that the CD image (ISO file) you downloaded could be corrupt, or it
somehow got damaged when you created your boot media (I think you're
using a USB stick, correct me if I'm wrong). This assessment is based on
the syslog file you posted, which contains lines like these, indicating
the installer was unable to read some data from the Live CD filesystem:

May 18 06:30:51 ubuntu kernel: [ 4981.780532] SQUASHFS error: zlib_inflate error, data probably corrupt
May 18 06:30:51 ubuntu kernel: [ 4981.780541] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x1e8571a4
May 18 06:30:51 ubuntu kernel: [ 4981.780544] SQUASHFS error: Unable to read data cache entry [1e8571a4]
May 18 06:30:51 ubuntu kernel: [ 4981.780547] SQUASHFS error: Unable to read page, block 1e8571a4, size 1fa5b

There is an easy way to verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files
you download. Could you please visit
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM follow the instructions
and report back as to whether or not the MD5SUM verified?

There is a section on how to verify the files from Windows, Mac or
another Linux computer, and this page provides instructions on how to
have your Ubuntu installation media verify itself:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CDIntegrityCheck

If it turns out your installation media or files are corrupt, I suggest
you re-download the CD image and create your installation media again.
If using a USB stick, it would be good to use a different one, if
possible.

Please don't forget to report back on whether these diagnostics helped
figure out the problem, or if you continue to have installation issues.

Thanks in advance!
