Just to understand the motive of the decision: what do you think makes
breaking a convention so less worse than breaking a standard?

  Binary package hint: rsyslog

  there are some issues with actual natty's rsyslog wich is highly
  outdated:

  5.8.0 is the stable branch  http://www.rsyslog.com/doc/rsyslog_conf.html
  Sid get it  http://packages.debian.org/fr/sid/rsyslog

  some related bugs  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsyslog

  So please merge it ASAP on Lucid Maverick & Natty
