This is the device.map I got from running
grub-mkdevicemap
and then adding the array0 device.

its visible in /dev/mapper:

Bug description:
  /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for
  /dev/mapper/isw_bichcdfhcg_ARRAY0.  Check your device.map.

  is the error.

  the array has four drives in it:

  the root device is striped on two mirror devices : so the right drive
  to use is a stripe set (with in this case 64k stripes) - but the bios
  will bring it up... I'm not sure (yet) why grub-probe needs to care.
