Title:
Déjà Dup should be installed by default

Status in “ubuntu-meta” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
I work with Ubuntu since 6.04 and I never did backups due the lack of
a simple backup tool. Backups are essential and external harddrives
  are cheaper than never before.

I ever thought... why can't it be that simple like with the Mac
  Timemachine?

So today I really learned how well Déjà Dup works...
Once configured (at best with a schedlue), it save your backups on an external storage and even reminds you, when you have to plug your harddrive for example...

Theres is annother bug report that requests to use this with ubuntu
one... but this is another point...

So it would be really good if you have to configure your backup during
the installation process from Ubuntu. You can there choose between a
configuration on a specific location or you can skip this step. So all
then the user needs to know, is when he needs to connect the device.
This will him told via the libnotify...

If you compare this to other Operation Systems, this is like a
  essential Feature.
