Title:
serial console installation did not result in correct serial console
  grub2 configuration

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: base-installer

I performed an install of 10.04.1 server to a system with a serial
console by adding 'console=tty console=ttyS1,115200n8' to the kernel
command line. The installation proceeded correctly, however on first
boot, the grub2 configuration lacked these options resulting in no
  serial console output.
