[Bug 790259] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 install fails

hi bigoperm,

Does the installer give you an error message, or just hang there doing
nothing?

If there's an error message, could you post it here? there's a log file
for the installer in /var/log/installer/debug (or in /var/log/ if the
install didn't complete).

Let's see if these files give us a clue as to what's going on.

Thanks!

Title:
  Ubuntu 11.04 install fails

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

Installation failure when I'm using USB or cdrom (in the case of the
attached log files, it was a CD attempt). I have verified that the
ISO, and the CD, are not corrupt: the ISO passes the md5 checksum, and
the CD passes its internal self-check.

During installation, there are packages that (apparently) need to be
removed toward the end of installation -- this is where the installer
  is crashing.
