Sorry for the delay. Yes, it seems you have MANY ppa's that were in use at one point (look at /sources.list.d). Consider using the tool, 'ppa-purge' to remove the packages installed with the ppa's.

I get this error when I try to upgrade my distro. I have tried many
different solutions, but none worked out for me.
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10
$ apt-cache policy update-manager
update-manager:
