Title:
Upgrade from 11.04 to 11.04 failed.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

I got my Laptop in 2008 with 7.10 pre-installed and have upgraded
through all versions (including all betas since 8.10) until 11.04.
Never had any greater complications (except for this last beta cycle,
thanks to unity ;-) but now my system has become unstable mostly
concerned with not returning from standby, even running into kernel
panics. Since I just need to get on with my work, I decided it might
be time to wipe the slate clean and re-install from scratch. I backed
up my data and expected to format and re-install. I prepared a USB
stick a the natty image downloaded from ubuntu.com.

I was happy to see ubiquity offer me to "Upgrade from 11.04 to 11.04"
which meant keeping my home dir intact. So I opted for that option. I
was asked for a new user name and was told that no existing users
could be imported which I found odd since there are users on the
installed system. The installer started showing me the slide show and
the status was "Removing contending system files" (translated from
German). Eventually a message box came up telling me that the
  installation had failed.
