Title:
  use of diff-algorithm

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

It's not a bug, but I was wondering whether anybody has thought of
using a diff-algorithm for making updates, for example as described
  here:

   http://www.daemonology.net/bsdiff/
  or
   http://www.daemonology.net/papers/thesis.pdf

I don't have any knowledge concerning this but perhaps the person writing the thesis.

I only ask because perhaps it is more economical just to transfer
changes than the whole package, even for binary files.
