Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Hi,
It seems that Xubuntu 11.04 image file (xubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso) could be corrupted: I tried to download it twice, but kept getting a "file is corrupted" message when checking with MD5 "78719bfee11576729a62b4a241d40b19".
Nevertheless, I tried to install it, as a dual boot environment (not on the machine used to report this bug): system partition 13.7 Gb (clean out option) and home partition within 9.3 Gb free space. This installation failed, apparently at time setting stage, with a message requesting to report it as a bug. Unfortunately, the graphical environment that opened automatically was not usable: no application (e.g. Firefox) could be opened from there and file manager was not usable either.
Therefore, I don't know how I could get sending the two log files that I was also requested to report (/var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman), using a live CD session. Could you guide me with sending some detailed instructions, please?
I'm willing to provide any collaboration that I could to help fixing this issue (being not a technician and having limited skill with Linux).
Thanks in advance for your support!
KR - Francois
