I'm no longer seeing this behaviour in software-center in Ubuntu 11.04, so likely this has been fixed.
To close the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status to "Fix Released". Thanks!

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

  On the left of software-center 2.0.7 I have 3 listings under Get Software.
  The top listing is called "Provided by Ubuntu", the third is called "Debian", and the middle listing switches its name between the two when the mouse moves over it, or one of the other two is chosen.
