Title:
Manual partition problem alert when there isn't an actual problem

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

  Kubuntu i386 live 20100902.1

Using manual partioning I set up an ext3 partition and swap. Got the
  following error:

Error!!! Partiion(s) 5 on /dev/sda have written, but we have been
unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they
are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use.
You should reboot now before making further changes.

Install went ahead anyway, so it must have sorted itself out.
