Title:
[Natty Alpha-2] ubi-partman relinquishes when encountering FreeBSD
  partition

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

  consider this rather lower priority

It looks like parted does not recognise a FreeBSD partition entirely and thus ubi-partman fails.
Ubiquity actually reports the 'standard type of the partition table' to be unknown
and asks to send a list to debian-boot at lists.debian.org.
however parted has no problem detecting the (msdos) partition table type.

  Model: Maxtor 6 Y080L0 (scsi)
  Disk /dev/sda: 82,0GB
  Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
  Partition Table: msdos
