Title:
install crashes at 81%
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubiquity
I was in the process of installing eeebuntu. I was trying to install
eb4-b1 via USB. The install was going fine until it hit 81% and then
the install crashed. The hardware is an Asus 1005HAB. In the
install, I specified all US parameters and selected the option to
"install them side by side". I have the following partions: Windows
7, Eeebuntu (ext4), Windows XP, extra 15.8M (unknown). I also
selected the option "Require my password to log in and to decrypt my
home folder". The install begins and formats the newly created ext4
partition. The installation then continues as normal until it gets to
81% (Configuring system locales...). There is some disk activity, but
nothing else happens until the crash screen appears.
As I mentioned before I specified all US related parameters, so I
selected "English" as the language, keyboard as "USA", time zone as
"Central". The installation has failed three different times for me,
so this bug is reproducible.
lsb_release -rd command displays:
Description: Eeebuntu Beta
Release: 0.5
