3) Expected to be able to install Ubuntu on Verbatim 64GB ExpressCard SSD. Tried several times with
2 new SSDs of the same type.
4) Failed systematically.
The last error reported in the pop-up window is (although both the Kingston pendrive with
ubuntu-10.04.1-desktop-amd64 and the Verbatim SSD /dev/sdc are brand new and the system
is very stable and reliable running 24/7 w/o any breakdowns):
The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk:
[Errno 30] Read-only file system
This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard
disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower
speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often
available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk
is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler
environment.
