Title:
  Ubuntu 10.10 crashes on install

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

I am attempting to install 10.10 to a frankenclone. A brand new
motherboard/cpu/memory/powersupply, with an existing hard drive. I
have repartitioned and formatted the hd both with fdisk and parted.

When I try to run the graphical installer it gets part way into
"Configuring apt" I would say less than 10% and fails with "Installer
crashed" I don't see any sort of error code or other marker. It does
specify that I should install syslog and partman, which I will do so.

I suspected that this may have been a bad install disk, so I reburned
at 1x speed and retried. Still fails.
