Title:
install beside other OS option wipes out other OS and formats over it

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

I was installing ubuntu 10.10 64 bit edition via a USB stick, during
the installation it gave me the option to install it "along side
another OS" (my main hard drive is a 500 Gig that is partitioned into
two 250 Gig partitions one of which had windows 7 and the other was
left for the ubuntu installation). After it finished the installation
it had one 500 Gig partition for ubuntu and had reformatted the whole
drive to EXT4 completly wipeing out my window 7 partition
