Title:
failed to install ubuntu11.04 over old 10.10 partition

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

Install of ubuntu 11.04 over an old partition with 10.10 /without reformatting) failed.
I tried upgrading from 10.10 earlier but upgrade stopped in the middle. System unbootable since. Saying that no init can be found.
Will try formatting the partition now.
I had to put syslog and partman in one file since you don have an option for uploading multiple files.
  partman starts on line 3284
