Title:
install.py crashed with AssertionError in __init__(): Failed to mount
  the target: /target

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
In attempting to do an install into a single partition, the installer
crashed. I gave BTRFS a shot this time just to see if something
different would happen, and the whole installer crashed. If I use
EXT3/4 with a single partition, the format goes forward, install
starts, but then toward the end the installer fails to mount the
  drive.

  There is additional information here:
  https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+question/165799

I used the ubuntu 11.04 install CD. If I set up a scheme using
multiple partitions, I have less problems.
