Public bug reported:
PC was updating nicely and then just stopped. It took so long that I
decided to use the app to kill the application. At that point I got a
pop-up saying that due to updates the pc had to reboot (as if the pc had
finished updating normally). I let it reboot. Then I used update manager
again and it said that it could only do a partially update do to
problems in the past. It turned out that it had problems with
/etc/default/grub, because this had been modified by hand earlier. This
is correct: it's a dual boot system and I have edited the file so
windows would be started automatically. It gave me a screen in which I
could choose what it had to do and I let it change grub by the
maintainers version. Now the update manager says the system is up to
date.....
