Thanks for your swift reaction. There were a number of log-files: I
attached the files from the directory created at the time of my report
plus a couple of logs from the main directory. Don't hesitate to ask for
more if needed

  Alt+F2: update-manager -d and select the release-update/-upgrade from
  Natty to Oneiric - runs well until it fails because it cannot access
  some files ("403") - I don't recall exactly which files (xorg?)
