Thanks for your bugreport.

I can reproduce this on oneiric. But I can not see anything in the code
that triggers this except maybe for creating the dialog itself.

Title:
software-properties-gtk clears selection buffer when adding a
  repository

Status in “software-properties” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  To reproduce

  1. gksudo software-properties-gtk
  2. click "other software" tab
  3. in browser, highlight the address of a repository
  4. in s-p-g click "add"
  5. middle click in the text entry dialogue which appears.

what I expected to happen: the repository URL highlighted in the
browser should be pasted into the text entry box

what happened instead: nothing, and I had to go back to the browser
and reselect the URL, and then go back to the dialogue and paste it
  again.
