  after checking for updates, 'updating cache' box  returns 'waiting for
  apt-get to exit'

Status in “update-notifier” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-notifier

  i run update manager. 'last updated 1 day ago' i hit 'check'... box
  named 'update cache' contains message 'waiting for apt-get to exit';
  it continues to wait unless i cancel  details not available.

  i recently upgraded 10.04 to maverick usinge update-manager -d    in
  terminal.
