Ubuntu better.  Reviewing your dmesg attachment to this bug report it
seems that there may be a problem with your hardware.  I'd recommend
performing a back up and then investigate the situation.  Measures you
might take include checking cable connections and using software tools
to investigate the health of your hardware.  In the event that is is not
in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: dpkg

  downloading this through terminal (took a long time) then it failed to
  install. bummer.

  1. Ubuntu 9.10
  2. dunno
  3. expected it to download and install
  4. it crashed instead after it downloaded.

  P.S. now that the downloaded package crashed and relatively useless,
  how do i get rid of it? im a newbie ;)
